Bills and resolutions, current and recent

Copies of bills and resolutions of the current legislature are available through distribution offices maintained by the house and the senate. denotes link to another GTLI pageHouse Document Distribution and denotes link to another GTLI pageSenate Bill Distribution can provide copies of the different versions (including introduced, committee report, engrossed, conference committee report, and enrolled) of each bill and each joint, concurrent, and simple resolution filed for introduction in the chamber served by the office. House and senate rules allow filing to begin the first Monday after the general election preceding a regular legislative session or 30 days before any special session. Document distribution offices provide copies of measures from the time they are filed through the interim, until the filing period begins for the next regular session. Legislation from current and recent sessions can be accessed online through TLIS on the legislative intranet or on the Internet. Certified copies of the final versions of bills and resolutions from current and recent sessions can be obtained by calling the secretary of state’s office at (512) 463-0872. PDF images of those versions for the most recent session are available on the secretary of state’s website and for the 78th and 79th Legislatures (2003 and 2005) on the Texas Laws and Resolutions Archive website of the University of North Texas.
