The Sunset Advisory Commission evaluates the programs and functions of state agencies scheduled for termination under the Texas Sunset Act and makes recommendations on each agency in a report to the legislature. Commission members sponsor legislation to implement the recommendations developed for each agency under review. In addition, the commission reviews compliance with sunset legislation from the previous session and reports those findings to the legislature.

Sunset staff reports and other agency publications are available at the commission’s office at no charge for individual copies and a nominal charge for multiple copies. Publications also may be viewed on the commission’s website.
