The Data for 2011 Redistricting in Texas publication describes the data that the Texas Legislative Council collects and prepares for redistricting, the sources of the data, and the methodology used by the council to link the various types of data used in the redistricting database.
Plans made public through the redistricting process area assigned a number, description, and category. Desktop users can view plans on the Internet application DistrictViewer. A version of DistrictViewer is also available to mobile users.

Election data collected by the council include election returns, total and Spanish surname voter registration, voter turnout, and precinct and candidate information for all statewide elections from 1986 through the 2010 general election, selected county and city elections through the 2012 general election, and all special elections for state districted offices.
