Data

The Texas Legislative Council develops, maintains, and integrates population, geographic, and election data for use in the district modeling application (RedAppl) and in the Internet plan viewing application (DistrictViewer).

Data are available to the public and can be downloaded from the council's redistricting FTP site. Council geographic data differ slightly from census data. Spatial realignment corrections were made to congressional, senate, house, and State Board of Education districts, and boundary and numbering updates were made to election precincts and school districts. This geographic and population data should be used for Texas redistricting.
